Questions For Kids

The following questions and answers were developed for our Vacation Bible School so that we could help kids learn about Jesus from a fresh perspective (namely, from the perspective of the Exodus).

To make these easier for the littler kids, we made parts of the answers bold, and those represent shorter phrases that are easier for the smaller children to memorize. For the older kids, we encourage them to learn the entire answer.

  1. Q. Who is Jesus?
  2. A. Jesus is the one and only God-Man, the Alpha and the Omega.
    John 1:1,14

  3. Q. Who made Jesus?
  4. A. Jesus was not made. Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
    John 8:58

  5. Q. Who made you?
  6. A. Jesus made me.
    Colossians 1:16

  7. Q. What else did Jesus make?
  8. A. All things have been created by him and for him.
    Colossians 1:16

  9. Q. Why did God make the world and all things?
  10. A. Creation exists so that God could come in flesh, reveal his identity, and sum up all things in his own self.
    Ephesian 1:10

  11. Q. What has God achieved in his creative acts?
  12. A. God has advanced his own glory—“You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things.”
    Revelation 4:11 (see also Isaiah 42:8, 44:12-13, 48:9-11)

  13. Q. How many Gods are there?
  14. A. There is only One True God, “You believe that there is one God. You do well.”
    James 2:19

  15. Q. Who is this One True God?
  16. A. God is, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, as it is written, “God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, ‘Abba, Father!’”
    Galatians 4:6

  17. Q. Is the Son the Father?
  18. A. No, the Son is not the Father, he is the image of God the Father.

  19. Q. How is Jesus the image of God the Father?
  20. A. Jesus said, “He who has seen me has seen the Father.”

  21. Q. How did Jesus make himself known?
  22. A. Jesus said, “Believe my works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.”

  23. Q. What works did Jesus do?
  24. A. Jesus set his people free from sin and death, “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
    John 8:36

  25. Q.  How did Jesus set his people free?
  26. A. The death Christ died, he died to sin, once for all

  27. Q. How was Jesus’ life and work proved right?
  28. A. Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, he was buried, and he was resurrected on the third day, then he ascended into heaven to the right hand of the Father.
    1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Acts 1:11

  29. Q. What does it mean for Jesus to be at the right hand of God?
  30. A. It means he is, “the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords.”
    1 Timothy 6:15

  31. Q. How is Jesus a King?
  32. A. God said to him, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.”
    Hebrews 1:8

  33. Q. Who were God’s people?
  34. A. Israel, the descendants of Abraham, a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.

  35. Q. Which enemy took ownership of Israel?
  36. A. They were Pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt
    Deuteronomy 6:21

  37. Q. Who saved Israel from their slavery to Egypt?
  38. A. God the Father, whose name is Yahweh

  39. Q. How did Yahweh save Israel from Slavery?
  40. A. Yahweh brought them out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

  41. Q. What do we call Israel’s escape from slavery?
  42. A. The Exodus

  43. Q. Who else is in slavery?
  44. A. Jesus said, “Whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.”

  45. Q. Who saves sinners from slavery to sin?
  46. A. If Jesus makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
