Eastside Church of the Cross

Our Mission

Q. What is our mission?

A. To glorify the Triune God by enjoying and loving Him forever.

Q. How do we remain focused on our mission?

A. Through regular worship, fellowship, discipleship, prayer, praise and Evangelism

We are called to live this mission in particular ways:

I. We are called to be disciples and to disciple

· Committed to Jesus-centered, biblical and expositional preaching (explaining Scripture)

· Relationships of Discipleship for all ages, with disciples making disciples

· Training our children - various activities that nurture family discipleship

· Training adults - Sunday school, leadership training, bible studies, theological training

II. We are called to be a community

· Promoting biblical fellowship which fosters discipleship and enhances worship

· Home fellowship

· Other church-wide activities such as special dinners, outreach activities and various youth and family activities

III. We are called to proclaim the gospel to the world

· God is the Gospel.  Indeed, Jesus is the Gospel!

· We promote Jesus and together are the hands and feet of the Gospel

· Evangelism (speaking the beauties of Christ) is the outflow a biblical church

· Faithful gospel preaching and the support of the same around the world

· Our local commitment manifests itself in worship on Sunday, in outreach to the needy, in sharing with our own families, door to door evangelism, and personal evangelism practiced by our members

· Our foreign commitment - Germany, some work with Haiti, Mexico, and giving through the Southern Baptist Convention to the Home and International Mission Boards.

How we do this mission (how the particulars look), and the doctrinal unity we share, those things are the subject of this web site.
